FaceFormer® application together with Invisalign Retainer splints?

Can I use the FaceFormer and my retainer splints (Invisalign) at the same time? I have to wear the trays for at least 8 hours at night.

Answer

With FaceFormer therapy you treat the causes of malocclusions as well. When children aged 10-11 have orthodontic treatment, tooth misalignments are often corrected with braces or brackets. In many cases, however, the position of the teeth changes again to the negative shortly after the treatment is completed. This is because the causes, namely functional influences, are not corrected at the same time. Even retainers, be it fixed metal strips on the teeth or splint systems, can affect this process, but not stop it. Often other health problems arise for the patient that are no longer associated with the orthodontic treatment.

So it is not a problem but even strongly advisable to use FaceFormer therapy in parallel with Invisalign.
