Is the tongue also held in front during sleep?
Question
I bought the FaceFormer in the hope of getting my snoring under control. The exercises are easy to do after a few repetitions. However, I didn’t quite understand how to use it overnight, as you can’t do any exercises while you’re asleep, and is the tongue supposed to be held forward by permanent negative pressure?
Answer
It is important that you do the exercises consistently and regularly during the day. This will help you to train slack muscles and tissue in the mouth and throat, tongue position, nasal breathing, etc. By doing the exercises at night, you get used to breathing through your nose at night and achieve mouth closure. These are important prerequisites for success. You also have micro-training at night because you perform involuntary swallowing movements, whereby there is a high negative pressure in the mouth/throat. Daily exercises and nightly use will keep you going for about 6 months, even if success is achieved after a short time. We need time to automate the newly learned techniques.
