We all know how good training is for us and how satisfied we are to have kept it up. So it would be so easy to do something good for us if it wasn’t for the inner bastard. Because we know that, that’s why we want to give you very concrete and practical tips for training and increased motivation.
A great example of how motivation can even succeed for the whole family is shown in the mail of a patient of our practice. Read how family Wiegand (name changed) has managed to practice regularly for 7 weeks now.

Dear Mrs Berndsen,
We, the Wiegand family, would like to thank you once again for your commitment and your great help.
The FaceFormer training helps Max and Maja a lot, as well as myself against my snoring by the way. Since we have managed to integrate the training into our everyday life and we do our exercises regularly, Max has hardly any ear problems and Maja’s jaw pains are as good as gone. My wife can now sleep undisturbed again, as I rarely bother her with my snoring anymore.
Since we often had the topic of motivation during the therapies, I thought you might be interested to know how we solved this. Your tip to quietly reduce the training to twice a day was the decisive factor, because the children (and honestly, I too) could accept this much easier.
I made an agreement with my children and introduced a reward system that has worked very well so far:
We have been practicing together for almost 7 weeks, always in the morning before school and in the evening after dinner. For this we stand together in the hallway in front of our big mirror. I set the 6-second rhythm by counting my fingers and record the number of exercises with the hand counter.
We note the training units including the nightly application in the calendar. If the children have trained regularly for a week, you can choose a movie from an online video streaming service at the weekend. Each successful month is rewarded with a visit to the cinema. Now, when we have the two months full in just under two weeks, we will go to a climbing park together. And for the final goal, after six months, I have promised to come up with something very special. Of course I reward myself in a similar way, for example every Sunday with a thick piece of cake. At the end of the six months we will probably have a short holiday, because now I don’t bother anybody anymore if we all share a hotel room.

For some users, the exercises are very exhausting when they first start training.
Perseverance leads to success and to persevere you have to motivate yourself. Keeping in mind the success you want to achieve is one way. But whoever does something should also be rewarded. Therefore rewards are a good additional possibility. We have put together a few ideas that will help you to keep your motivation up.

A positive attitude towards FaceFormer therapy will help you! Look forward to the exercises, because it’s fun to take the initiative to improve your performance, get healthy and stay healthy.
FaceFormer therapy is a successful neurophysiological method. The prerequisite for success is constant use according to the exercise instructions.
The basic postures and exercises described do not usually work right from the start. Use them as a guide. Do them as well as you can. It will gradually get better!
Success does not happen overnight, but depends on the “level of training”.
FaceFormer therapy is not finished even if the stressful symptoms disappear. Relapses can only be ruled out when the trained biological functions automatically adjust correctly, even during sleep.
The goal is achieved when the results are stable and the structures, which have often been damaged for many years, have recovered and adapted.
Here are some suggestions and ideas about a step-by-step reward to keep motivation up, especially good with children.
What works well for children, naturally also works for adults. Just think of things that would make you happy and try to spread them over the exercise period as a reward.
