Warum werden Zähne wieder schief?

Warum können Zähne trotz Korrektur mittels Zahnspange wieder schief werden? Oft liegt die Ursache in unbemerkten Fehlfunktionen der Zunge, die beim Schlucken gegen die Zähne drückt und sie so verschiebt. Ohne ausreichende Korrektur dieser zugrunde liegenden Ursache kehren Fehlstellungen zurück. Dieser Beitrag erkläret, warum die richtige Funktion der Zungenbewegung entscheidend ist und welche Schritte nötig sind, um Zahnfehlstellungen dauerhaft zu verhindern.

Für manche ein ewiger Teufelskreis: Trotz Zahnspange werden die Zähne wieder schief. Mittlerweile kommen deswegen oft sogenannte Retainer zum Einsatz. Doch auch Retainer lösen das eigentliche Problem nicht auf, warum die Zähne überhaupt erst schief werden. Weil die eigentliche Ursache nicht behandelt wird, macht die Anwendung eines Retainers womöglich alles eher schlimmer.
