Vertigo and Meniere’s disease

Everyone has experienced that fast turning movements, e.g. on a merry-go-round, being at great heights or excessive alcohol consumption can affect the vestibular system and spontaneously trigger dizziness. However, the reactions triggered in this way are perceived very differently. What is even fun for one person, because they tolerate the irritation well, is unbearable for another and they will no longer expose themselves to these influences in future.
Dizziness also occurs without external influences. Incorrect stimuli to the human organ of balance, which is connected to the inner ear responsible for hearing, and central irritations in the human brain are probably the most common causes. However, inflammation, heart problems, circulatory disorders, metabolic problems, vascular problems, psychological influences, etc. must also be taken into account.
Rotational vertigo, positional vertigo, swaying vertigo, vertigo that pulls you up or down and vertigo that causes light-headedness correspond to the descriptions of vertigo as experienced by those affected. Meniere’s disease (Menière’s disease) is a combination of various symptoms. Typical symptoms include attacks of spinning vertigo, nausea, sometimes even vomiting, ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and hearing loss.
Dizziness often occurs suddenly and without warning.
With any type of vertigo, dizziness attacks can occur from one second to the next, without warning. They vary in duration – seconds, minutes, hours. Long-lasting dizzy spells – lasting days, months or forever – are classified as persistent dizziness or chronic dizziness.
The causes of vertigo can be varied and doctors have various ways of diagnosing it. A typical sign of rotational vertigo is, for example, jerky eye movements (nystagmus). The direction of the rapid eye movements is an indication that the vestibular organ, the vestibular nerve or the nerve pathways in the brain are affected.
In very many cases, the causes of dizziness and the associated impairments remain undetected and treatments tend to be random.
Standard treatments for dizziness are antibiotics, blood circulation stimulants and cortisone. So-called antivertiginous drugs can alleviate dizziness and nausea, but do not affect the cause. They should only ever be used in the short term and under the supervision of a doctor due to the significant side effects. Ginkgo or ginger are used as herbal remedies. In most cases, especially in older people, balance training is important. Surgery is also indicated for tumors or vascular problems.
The assumption that ventilation disorders to and in the middle ear are the primary cause of a variety of illnesses and problems is one of the basic assumptions of the therapy approach with the FaceFormer. A lack of air exchange and pressure equalization cause malfunctions in the middle ear. Inflammatory processes (middle ear inflammation) and disturbed pressure situations with effects on the membrane system of the inner ear and balance system are the consequences. They have a damaging effect on hearing and balance. An incorrect or disturbed functional sequence of breathing, swallowing, mouth closure, tongue position etc. causes massive stress in the system and must be corrected. This applies to all ages. Harmoniously functioning complex muscle chain functions of the mouth and throat in connection with breathing and swallowing are a prerequisite for these important mechanisms to be learned and constantly, i.e. unconsciously, correctly executed. As long as the consistently necessary functions are compensated for by incorrect movement patterns, the overall situation deteriorates permanently, not only in the functional systems already affected, but also in more distant segments of the human organism.
FaceFormer therapy is designed to stabilize the functions of the mouth region, throat region, breathing, head balance, neck and body statics. It stabilizes the necessary muscle chain functions, activates cranial nerve functions and automates correct movement patterns. In the case of dizziness and hearing disorders, mechanisms of ventilation and pressure equalization in the middle ear are significantly optimized. The FaceFormer therapy is carried out for at least 6 months, even if success is achieved after a short time. This is the only way to bring the processes of stabilization and automation together, which prevents relapses to the old condition.
The FaceFormer is the patented training device for the cause-oriented treatment of dizziness and Menière’s disease.
