FACEFORMER FAQ - Antworten auf häufige Fragen
What to do in case of irritation of oral mucosa or lips?
Question
I am very satisfied with the FaceFormer. It was practically my last rescue. The muscles have normalized, the tongue can finally return to its original place, the jaw pains have become much less, the teeth show that I can no longer grind, because they feel more stable.
Unfortunately redness has formed in the mouth in some places. This could be caused by suction, where the edges of the FaceFormer press on lips and gums. What could I do to protect or support the mucous membrane of the mouth and lips?
Answer
First and foremost, the positive effect can be attributed to your consistent practice. You must therefore continue the exercises regularly and use the FaceFormer at night. Reddened pressure points occur with few users in the first few days. This is caused by particularly sensitive gums. The lips are shielded by the FaceFormer’s mouth shield so that saliva no longer reaches these areas optimally.
To avoid such reactions, apply a thin coat of Vaseline to the entire surface of the FaceFormer’s mouth shield before use. Vaseline is harmless and free of harmful substances. The grease reduces the friction that the mouth shield generates on the gums and thus reduces the described reactions. If you feel uncomfortable with Vaseline, vegetable oil can be used with the same result.
To reduce sensitivity, gently work the inner lip area once or twice a day with a soft toothbrush. The sensitivity will then be reduced after a short time.
If you also feel pressure on your teeth, this is quite normal, because teeth that protrude from the dental arch receive more pressure. This is also supposed to be the case and the sensation is increasingly reduced because the teeth fit in harmoniously.
