Problem with biting open during FaceFormer training?
Question
I have received the FaceFormer and can well imagine that the whole thing has an effect. Only one problem: After pressing my lips for 6 seconds, I can’t bite my molars together, but then have the mucous membrane of my mouth between my teeth. Is that bad? Swallowing works with the tongue position.
Answer
Your statement describes the core problem that absolutely demands the necessity for FaceFormer therapy: Your tongue, soft palate, mimic musculature etc. are altogether under-tensioned. You avoid the correct bite situation because the tongue lies limply on the teeth. You should change this with the therapy. Please perform the exercises consistently according to the instructions and always concentrate on the bite phase with tooth contact before swallowing. With constant training, the tension will increase and you will soon no longer bite your cheek.
